SERIES are development team dedicated to the disciplines of generative music composition, performance and recording. Our homegrown MIDI generating VST plugin, the Aleator, has been in a permanent state of development since 2014 and consumes data representing loose harmonic structures. Based on those pitch agnostic forms, it uses random elements, probability distribution and carefully crafted logic to generate MIDI events intended for lead melodies, bass lines, rhythmic accompaniment and drumming but we’ve been known to abuse it to abuse it to other ends.
Today we use this plugin inside of a DAW along with modular synthesis and live coding techniques to make our noises. Kwame Johnson is a human. Jessica is an established live coder and music/tech evangelist. Oh she’s also a human.
