Halloween/Philly

Just a quick check in here, wanna stay with it! OPEN:SOURCE was a really fun event - if you’re in South Florida and see posts for it, pay attention and try to check it out. The same goes for Sine Harmonia - all of those guys work really hard to make their events special and these are exactly the kinds of shows that we need to be supporting in the underground electronic community.

Speaking of which - come out to Propaganda on Friday 10/23 to see the crew for an extra spooky Electro Sonic Workshop! I have some new material I’ll be working through and Rod will be soundtracking us with some spooky/horror video. I’m not dressing up this year but I do have some wild looking Pennywise teeth I’m gonna wear; should look dope with the googlies.

I’m in the middle of producing stems and reference mixes for SERIES #3. This one will have the compositions that I was running through from late August through September, so if you saw me in this last wave of shows the flow will be familiar. Stylistically, I’m backing away from the odd meters slightly. By that, I mean that common time and 6/4 make appearances - only the first piece (Hem & Haw) is in an odd meter. If you’re familiar with the older recordings, you know that the Hem & Haw dataset has been around a couple of years - its the basis for the untitled piece at the end of [5312135]. This newer runthrough could be described as sprawling and sounds like it would be at home on SERIES #2; the other works on here are a little more focused (not necessarily shorter) and darker, pointing to a change in trajectory.

I probably won’t do another post here before early November, so I’ll also mention that I’ll be up in Philly on 11/7 to do a set for the Philadelphia Modular Synth Fest! This is extra special for me since its at Penn. I haven’t been back on campus in easily over a decade, probably longer…I really can’t remember. It’ll be good to be back - it’s a free show so if you’re in Philly come out to The Rotunda and say hi!

Last but certainly not least, Frequency Divide and I are cookin’ up some shit for yall. Sit tight.
